Worried about gay-bashing [Reader Responses]

I'd like to point out that there have been several court cases where schools have lost large sums because they failed to provide adequate protection to gay students who were being harassed. If the student who asked about this goes to a school administrator and does not get an adequate response, she should see about getting a lawyer to contact the school and point out that they have legal obligations. It's amazing how much effect a friendly letter on an lawyer's stationery can have.
